RE: PHOTO of the year

The feeling of disgust, when analysed closely, comes from a deep rooted non-acceptance of something

This in turn can be attributed to the personality aspect.. of course it would have started as a upper-lower debate but with time the original cause gets lost and people just end up fighting

Like the one psychology experiment on monkeys they did… where initially a specific behavior was induced in the monkeys based on specific conditions and slowly as the older monkeys were removed from the experiment and newer ones introduced, the newer ones just followed the practice watching the older ones… and finally the behavior got ingrained in them.. with no clue to an outsider why they were behaving so…

Its not about ego issue. They want it, but the reservations leave us all disgusted.

I kind of figured these parts but wanted to get some etymological history

Maybe the so termed ‘forward castes’ should demand a reservation as a separate caste – forward caste

So that every caste thus gets into a reservation category and gets seat on that basis

there should be no ‘open’ debate on ‘open categories’ once there is complete reservation implementation

Brahmins need to get themselves registered as minorities and get the minority commission to look into their demands for reservation

Maybe Brahmins are too ego-fed to think on these lines…

Dwivedi –Knowledge of two vedas, Trivedi, Three vedas and Chaturvedi 4 vedas.

Updadhyay—Upanishads.

Pathaks—only readers of text.

You will find it in the link I sent.

And now see this…with the link

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forward_Castes

Impact of announcement on forward classes

After the implementation of OBC reservation, only 50% of seats are available in open competition. All communities can compete in open competition which means forward classes must secure between 72% and 78% of the 'open competition' seats in order to maintain their representation in keeping with their estimated population of 36-39%, whereas other communities will get major chunk of seats through exclusive reservations. This has resulted in protests from Forward Class community members and supporters from other communities under the banner of Youth for Equality. They have pointed out following as reasons for their protests.[19]

·

    • The Government has implemented reservations for the Sc heduled castes and Scheduled Tribes for the last 60 years, however the social and economic situation of these groups has not shown much improvement. This might be interpreted as an indication of the ineffectiveness of reservation in higher educational institutions as a means of achieving social equality.
    • Any difference between proportion of different communities in Higher educational institutions is mainly because of difference in primary school enrollment. (This fact was also confirmed in National sample surveys and pointed out by Oversight committee in its final report). Government should attack the cause instead of providing reservation at higher education level
    • Already 24% of college seats are with Other backward classes. Providing another 27% seats will deprive chances of forward classes.
    • Reservation on the basis of caste is cornered only by rich and affluent. For example daughter of former President of India got admission into Indian Foreign Services denying opportunity to another poor person from her own community.

Most oftener we end up generalizing our thoughts – a big ‘fault’ that lies within me

Yes people do not like …

So as per the assertive communication etiquettes.. one needs to ask how a person would like to be addressed…

I am sure I would have asked Basu-da but he is not around to be consulted with :>

Good that you clarified this thing about Tiwari and Tripathi – for me, for some reason the name Tripathi held more respect than Tiwari… ‘cos of probably social distortions..

I am now on a mission to unearth the subtleties between Dwivedis Trivedis and Chaturvedis.. and follow it up with Bandopadhyay Chattopadhyay Mukhopadhyay

I agree with you that there is no difference.

What I just meant was that people like their names. For example, in North India, Tiwari and Tripathi have no patriarchal difference.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tripathi

And since Tiwari is very common in North India, people end up calling me Aparajita Tiwari. And I HATE it so much that I cant describe.

A name has its significance and people generally do not like distortion.

But I agree with you that he was a liberal man and he wouldn’t mind : )

Perhaps people are not so particular about their names as I

As per the understanding http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Basu there is patriarchally no difference

So I am sure he being a liberal hardliner would not mind – in fact will be proud of his original name form used… :>

Subhash Chandra will be deeply offended if you henceforth refer to him as ‘Basu’.

He is Subhash Chandra Bose : )

That is always the case. For such people, you need to prove their death.

This guy does not seem to be the same..

DNA tests will have to prove his death

SL govt. is hard pressed to PROVE death to LTTE

Conspiracy theories will abound…

Till the next LTTE strike comes through.. or till any other proof comes up.

What happened to Subhash Chandra Basu?

Why will a man, even if he is LTTE supremo, sit all dressed in the uniform at his home watching TV?

For those who don’t know – the man is LTTE supremo Prabhakaran, Sri Lanka army recently showed a video claiming he is dead.

In the last decade, there have been dozens of such claims!
