Corporate Mailers - World Environment Day

HR teams of companies send such mailers to all the employees on the occasion of World Environment Day.

Governments print reams of ads in papers highlighting their contribution or their direction to the citizens towards a better environment on the occasion of World Environment Day

Corporators and Politicians paint hoardings publicly pledging their target to a better world on World Environment Day.

Does this awareness campaign itself not bring an adverse impact on the environment???

And on all other days, no one thinks of the Environment but go all out to rape it, digging up it’s bowels to extract resources, felling trees, ruining it’s fertility and running it’s fertile topsoil into the seas, , dumping all the waste from everything non-degradable from whatever it ever gave for the benefit of human kind.

But at every individual level, all of us need to take personal steps, without waiting for someone to tell us, and be responsible for the environment around us – & MOST IMPORTANT – teach our kids to respect the environment in all possible ways.

RESPECT comes as a lesson only by practice ~ parents need to practice respect themselves to let this very important trait percolate down to the next generation.

We are responsible for ourselves and for those around us. Let us really understand what RESPONSE-ABILITY means and improve our understanding and implementation at individual levels.

Saving Today for a Better Tomorrow!

Did you Know?

· Earth's average temperature has risen in the last few decades

· Ice is melting worldwide, especially at the poles. This includes mountain glaciers, ice sheets covering West Antarctica and Greenland, and Arctic sea ice. This is leading to rising Sea levels.

Its time we pay attention to the environment and give it some space to breathe too. On the occasion of World Environment Day, lets pledge to make a greener world, a better world and a healthier world.

As global citizens we too can contribute. Here are some small ways how -

  • Plant a tree with your family today! A tree can on an average remove 50 pounds of carbon from the air in one year
  • Turn off the lights when you leave a room
  • Use compact fluorescent bulbs as they help save energy (not to mention they last longer)
  • Switch off all electrical equipments when not in use, like turn off the monitor when you are not at your desk
  • Pile all your home rubbish into different binsbiodegradable and non-biodegradable separately
  • Use manure like grass clippings for your plants
  • Turn off a running tap
  • Keep your car well-tuned and tires properly inflated to save on fuel
  • Observe a vehicle free day J walk or take a cycle
  • And remember please don't print (this) e-mail unless you really need to...

Even a small step makes a huge difference!
