Myth to Reality

In the mythical legions that India has inherited, there was, once upon a time an âsura by the name of Raktabeeja. The very name of this being conveyed it's character. It had this boon to be able to resurrect itself from it's own drops of blood.

Just as we hear of cloning/genetic engineering in the modern times, India has had in its past/mythology, events, entities or both which have probably exemplified all aspects that science has discovered/ doscovering today.

So Raktabeeja never was destroyed, because everytime he would be wounded he'd have reinforced himself with another of his kind.

At such times, the world managers (devata) went to the triumvirate (Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesha) and asked for respite. That's when the Goddess Durga/Kali/Chandi emanated from the force of all the beings that existed in those times.
The Goddess was the supreme power, with the supreme ability of being a ferocious mother - a mother who innately is meek and soft, but when it is time to defend her close ones, she would be unstoppable in her tracks of destruction.

Mahakali as she came to be known finally vanquished the blood spurting terrorist by not letting a single drop of his blood hit the ground
- and this was possible only because everyone came together with a single purpose to join forces and defeat the terrorist forces.

I remembered this story since the time I have been hearing about terrorists and attacks. All these characters that call themselves terrorists are individuals who have lost the element of humanity in them for whatever reason - most often governance caused.
And with the increase in the numbers of these incidents, I am reminded of Raktabeeja, and thus wonder about the emergence of a power that can actually destroy these entities along with all those factors which are giving rise to such events and entities.
But the driving force behind any such move is vastly lacking in the nation today - the power of unity.

As it is said, history repeats itself, except that the price one has to pay is higher.

In today's capitalist times, we all have forgotten our past and the lessons we need to learn from them. People who refer to the past are seen as old-fashioned and so-jurrassic that the present is not able to learn anything new and is too busy rotating the gerbil-wheel of detached life through generation of money.

Only if there were sufficiently sane people in the nation today, who would leave their self interests aside and get together to generate a think tank and action body that can actually get down to work out the issues, the nation can feel proud of 'emerging' as a new power.

But as someone said, the Indian arena of intellect is under dire neglect and thus India will remain 'emerging forever'.

With the Devi Navratra approaching, sharing this aspect was poignant to the times we are living in.

India story - only balony???!!!

I again want to bring forth another aspect of the India story that needs a big time correction and almost infinite% improvement.
You and me and everyone is a part of it and is today the biggest cynosure to the eye of anyone who thinks sensibly.
Road etiquette - esp. vehicular.
Reams of paper in almost every city has written about the botched up traffic system they are living with. And we read more and more of it every new day.

But the cause to this HUGE HUGE problem stems only from one place - HUGE..R change in Indian attitude and so will the solution also.

You see, we Indians are a real bunch of lazy buggers.. and when I say this, I mean it dead serious.
Let me give you one example - the habit of chewing pan/tobacco. Do you observe those people who have this habit. Do you see how dead they look when all their energies are focused on the movement of their tongue, their teeth, their whole buccal cavity takes on that serious look when their brain is engaged 200% in sucking the juices out of that patch of tobacco, in generating more and more saliva so that the taste remains in their mouth coating, in fact drowning their taste buds in savoring that dangerous carcinogen.
Now what kind of a person will be so actively involved in such an activity?

If you think carefully, it will be only one who is in a way brain numb, not knowing what to do, not knowing where to go with his life, not deciding on his future and his course of action in life.
Aren't such people inherently lazy? Though they may seem active doing some work, but internally, they are all like blocks of concrete that is being wobbling along aimlessly.

So it is this category of people you see who driving public transport vehicles, heavy vehicles and all those vehicles which need a technical bent of mind and a very active thought process which helps them maintain their balance in their job.
do you think this is happening?

Unfortunately, it is these heads that are getting employed even in the Government services, be it police, public distribution, railways, banks, you name it - and add the historical mandate of 'reservation' to it. Now you see where the mess is all growing out of?

Another set of drivers are those private vehicle owners who have absolutely no care for where the world is going as long as they are riding at their own terms. Such people are inherently rash, they definitely have family issues that they are not able to deal with properly and they have serious personality disorders that need urgent attention.

Now there are people amongst these bunch who are just going with the flow, and they would probably be more disciplined if others were disciplined, i.e. if these same set of people were sent to Singapore, they would immediately follow the rules 'cos everyone else is. These class of people are those who would flow with the general crowd.

There are other areas I have not covered in this narration yet. Maybe later, but do you think given the magnitude of this attitude problem, this country can ever get onto the fast track of individual growth leading to wholesome growth?

The wholesome growth is what will make the India growth story real...

so unless that happens, the rest is all B A L O N Y...
reality shows don't show real stories any more...

(and people like us who have this intense desire to change things and can't do so sit at our terminals and preach to the world what the problems of this country are instead of collecting together and making a difference.
I for one am game to change the situation and I Am, in my own way, just that I would like others to share what they are doing...) :)
